We recently bought a new GE clothes washer. My DW, of course, had to check it thoroughly as it went through the cycles. First, it put in just enough water to cover the clothes, which disappointed her. Secondly, when it spin dries, the machine walks around the floor. If I didn't keep pushing it back into place, it would eventually leave the laundry room.
Called GE customer service about the low water fill. Was told it only uses that much water because of Govt. regulations. (What would they know about washing clothes?..:) ) They also suggested she add a bucket or two of water before the wash cycle started. This machine has a large capacity tub, the top two thirds of which have never gotten wet. SHAMEFUL!!
Another legendary American company, KODAK, has lost their once good reputation thanks to Funai Corp, who bought KODAK. Took 2 1/2 months to get a replacement printer that went bad during the warranty period. ^Their customer service is TERRIBLE!

Do NOT ever buy those new ones where the control panel is all digital and there is NO agitator. They are a piece of garbage with a guarantee you will be replacing the circuit boards. Just google it tens of thousands of very unsatisfied customers. Don't know how they keep selling them.
I did.:(
It only fills the machine with 1/4 of the water. At the end of the cycle your clothes are all balled up like a ball of pizza dough on the bottom. And during the washing process it starts and starts with sprays of water about 20+ times. The constant start ups eat your electricity.
AND
you clothes stink, the washer stinks and if you read the manual it tells you it WILL. :R Recommending you disinfect the washer often.
