Appreciate folks answering this question. I'm relieved that the "free" sights are so generous with their property.
On a side note, after looking at motor homes advertised for purchase in Florida where I live, I'm truly surprised that quite a few of them do not have on board generators. Who buys a MH with no generator? Waiting until you get to a park to run your AC and other appliances it would seem defeats the purpose of a MH which is to be independent.
We have had generators on our last two RVs, first propane and now diesel, so I completely agree with the value for RV purposes. Just stopping for lunch or dry camping in blazing summer temps and humidity makes me really glad to have one. Even in milder temps, tiny biting bugs can fly right through through window screens.
But a couple of things come to mind. A built-in gen can be a pricey option, which might seem unnecessary to someone who buys a big RV for the first time and initially plans to always go from hookup to hookup in RV resorts. Not everyone uses an RV the same way - some drive to Fla. and park it for the winter. RVs advertised probably have the wiring in place for optional addition of a gen. I'd price the option and offer less to a seller who didn't have one.
