Yes.

I have boondocked all over this good country, and I've seen very few fellow campers running air with a generator. They're usually outside when it's 90°+.

It's a nice idea, and it works, it's just that for the noise, the smell and the hassle of gas, folks just don't do it.

...and just to add to 2oldman's comments, we, too, just don't see very many folks running their air on generator(s) when boondocking. When we have seen it, it's been in those situations, typically in the desert southwest or other similar climate, when the temps are consistently in the mid to upper 90's or higher. In those situations, we'll usually run our generators/air long enough to get the inside temp down to a livable level in the late afternoon or early evening.
