Does anyone know which big-box store is best to buy a champion generator? I am at Duke cancer center for a doctor's appointment this morning and headed back to the coast to get my house finished ready...

The OP asked about INVERTER generators, NOT a monster noise maker like this one.
They said NO contractor-style generators, which this one definitely is.
X2 . The 4000 watt $499 contractor generator from Home Depot is not going to win you any friends as they are basically as loud as a lawn mower
