Definitely go when you can. At 45 (7 years ago) I had a near-fatal bout of congestive heart failure. Other than a slight restricted diet (low salt) and I'm not supposed to go to high elevation (my definition of "high" and the doc's don't agree :B) I'm back to normal, with only slighly diminished heart function. My mom was 55 when she died and my husband's dad was 52. Both had dreams they never lived because they ran out of time. We can't live our lives paranoid that every day will be our last but we can't expect we have forever, either. Too much can change in the blink of an eye. Good luck with the knee. 80 year old MIL had a partial hip replacement in January and a full knee replacement last month and knock on wood is recovering fairly well.
