Get out and go... while you still can! (A whiney rant)

I still have a ways to go before retirement and my wife and I discussed waiting on an upgraded RV until we retired. I have heard so many horror stories about people counting down the days until retirement, and then something happens to effect the retirement, that we decided to enjoy life now and deal with retirement when it comes. I do not want to have ANY plans that require me to wait until retirement - except the financial aspect.
