Anytime the area in question is swollen and hot! It is infected....period! Why did you ask your doctor for a second opinion? That is something you do on your own. Sorry, but I am upset for you. If it was taken care of properly you would be telling us how great your trip is going.

Get better soon and plan the trip for next year!
