Well it took awhile but i read all the posts and here is my $.02 worth. Captain sorry to hear of your troubles but I would have been all over that doctor to get the knee redone right. At this point I might even concider a LAWYER.
Now for noe-place and the comments made to his post. TOMMY47 wrote: noe-place--If you're a senior, I would suggest sooner than later. Elective surgery for seniors may be harder to get after this year.
I had a parial done on my left knee a few years ago and am very pleased. I hike, bike, golf, do physical work at a golf course. No problems.
noe-place good for standing your ground. My story: kind of goes hand-in-hand with noe-place’s; I had my knee kicked out during a Martial Arts Tournament, I was diagnosed with a deteriorating left knee (cartilage gone, torn meniscus, ligaments strained) the military doctors at that time wanted to replace knee right then also. Something told me to wait so I refused the surgery after the cast was removed and continued my military career. I figured when the pain was so severe I couldn't stand it, I would replace it. That was almost 35 year ago and I'm still doing OK. The doctors that I have now all tell me to wait on any replacement as there is always a chance things can go wrong and if the pain get so severe I couldn't stand it then replace it. I also hike, bike, golf, kayak and do physical stuff. Hold off as long as you can.
