Better call out the weight police to make sure your not over weight since adding all that extra steel!! Lol!
I do suggest to the OP to do the subframe. I really see no other way to get the trailer level with the truck, other than going with a flatbed. I only checked the cost at one place for mine, and got a quote between $2000 and $3000 as I recall. A friend and I did mine, he was 60 and I was 72 years of age. In my younger years, I could have cut the time in half. He had never been exposed to this type of work. It took us about 24 hours. We replaced the spring bushings and repacked the wheel bearings, which was not included in the quote. It was more time consuming than it was difficult.
