I forgot how sore and crickity my joints really are :)
Thinking I was a young man, who used to pull engines out of cars overnite working alone before work the next day.
I decided to change the shocks on our RAM 3500 before getting an alignment on the truck.
The thinking was:
Service centers always call back and "recommend" something even if the vehicle just left the assembly plant.
I was sure this would be a preemptive move saving me hundreds!
Not so my good friends...the service center called back "recommending" left side tie rod replacements.
Now the $75.00 dollar alignment is $333.16.
Remembering those old bones creaking and locking up caused me to happily accept and authorize that "recommendation"
Maybe the $333 bucks was a little high, but I don't feel too bad about it.
I felt slightly ripped off initially, yet the feeling subsided because we're hitting the road for few days.
For me there is no greater peace than going somewhere and staying in our trailer.
Just a note to self!
I will never ever change shock absorbers on my truck again!
Took hours rolling around under chassis and a host of tools.
...but that's another story.
