After reading the comments and the responses, the only thing I can add is my opinion, which is: to dump the whole WD mess, and either:
1. Get a truck that can tow the trailer without the WD hitch.
OR
2. Sell the truck and trailer (or trade it in), on a fifth wheel and a suitable truck to tow it!
Having had a TT, and towing it with and without a WD hitch, and having lived full time in a fifth wheel, there is no way I would ever have another TT or WD hitch! IMO, the fifth wheel is SO much nicer!
I know that is no help with your problem and decision making, but that is my opinion. Life is filled with hassles, and it would be SO easy to eliminate THAT one!
