I have to use the belt and suspenders with my dually. Sounds silly but the stupid receiver is only rated for 700 lbs tongue weight without WD. With WD it's rated for 1300 or 1500 lbs. crazy sounding!!! I have my hitch adjusted so that it just puts some tension on the bars.
I need to get a Reese Titan hitch and a decent draw bar.
I think I would still use friction sway control. Not sure how it would feel without it. I may be surprised.
