I really lean to the Eco-boost based on my research and a few chances to drive one. (As well, I qualify for Z-plan with Ford). I realize that I'm on the borderline of half ton vs. three quarter ton....

I am thinking that the payload difference between the HD 150 with 8200gvw, and the 150 SC with max tow package 7700gvw will not be the 500#s that it appears to be. The HD requires a longer wheel base, and is heavier.
The big thing with the HD is the 4800# raw vrs. the 4050# on the lighter version.
If you don't require the higher rear axle rating, I'd go with the deep discount, take the available truck, it should work nearly as well for your use.
