Thanks for the input Jerry. I am looking at a CrewCab, shorter bed, 4x4.
GeoBoy, I've loved my Chevy. The only reason I'm sticking with the F150 is the Z plan. It saves me several thousand without haggling. And, the Chevy's don't have a deep discount right now.
Punomatic, that's a neat service, but I don't need the negotiation portion.
Westend, I'll be towing about 3k per year, except for 3-4 5k trips over the next 6-10 years. You're right, the gap does close some. I truly know that we will not ever buy a TT that outgrows half ton towing. If I had a doubt, I would more strongly consider the 250 now.
I'm not sure if we can share numbers on this forum? Some are picky about that. So if the mods can please forgive me and delete if this is not appropriate.
When I say deep discounts, let's put some real numbers on it.
Sticker on this truck is right at $45k
Zplan purchase is roughly $32k
Rebates of $7.5k
Trade of $8k
Brings my price to $16,500 plus ttl with no money down. This makes it really hard to consider anything but the ford. Also makes it real attractive to grab a 2013 with very close to everything I want. Is HD payload worth loosing the $7.5k? I'm thinking not. If it was that important, I really should be considering 3/4 ton.
