I really lean to the Eco-boost based on my research and a few chances to drive one. (As well, I qualify for Z-plan with Ford). I realize that I'm on the borderline of half ton vs. three quarter ton....

Is it worth the safety and piece of mind not being close to limits? You get the Z plan on an F250 also correct?
The extra you spend on the F250, will make you for the extras that you would need to add toe the F150 to make feel safe.
