- emzeeExplorerI asked my dh this and he said he can do the same finger 5 minutes later and get as much as 20 difference. So his answer is much the same as everyone else, makes no difference.

Yes, I seem to use the same finger, and when it hurts, I switch. I didn't mention that I have arthritis in my hands .. 'old age isn't for wimps' was something a lady once told me and I keep remembering as I celebrate birthdays in the 70s.
Sorry for the late response but yes you can use it. It's not mine but I liked it and use it. I don't remember how I came about it. - RoadXYZExplorer IICampinginthewood : like your signature .. may I copy it and put it on Facebook without a source indicated ?

- garmpExplorer IICampfire had it right. It's a guide. Any meter can vary up to 10%, so I'm told, and your numbers sort of prove it. I am on a pump and test six time a day, counting carbs for each meal, so I know variance can happen. Don't panic and don't give up. Just try for an even keel. HTH!
- salemExplorerAny finger will suffice. However, other areas of the body will not. Do not use the arms, etc. unless your meter specifically allows for that. The oxygen content of the blood will be different in the arm, vs. the fingers.
- Campfire_TimeExplorerHome BG test is just a guide to tell you whether you are high, low, or in range. Its not as accurate as going to the lab and having it checked. It doesn't matter where you get the blood, as Gypsy said there will be a variance.
- fla-gypsyExplorerNo it should not make any difference. The test strips are not as accurate as we would like to think. You could do ten tests in a row from the same blood source and get 10 different numbers. The variance in the test per strip is +/- 10%
- midnightsadieExplorer IInow that,s a good question. I though the blood in my right finger was the same as my left, I,m gonna test and see, hope you get a proper answer . I wanna know too.
