Recently I was standing in a fast food line with my g-daughter ( 9 yoa). An RCM Police officer, in uniform, joined the line behind us. I had not noticed but my g-daughter told me there was a police man standing in the line behind us. I turned to him and stuck my hand out to shake his hand. He had a bewildered look on his face but did offered me his hand. I shock his hand and thanked him for his service. The bewildered look went to absolute surprise and an immediate "you are welcome" was uttered. My g-daughter asked me why I did that and I explained that the men and women that accept the challenges of policing are truly special and our society would be very different without these angels. I do recall the term pig and I always thought that is was just an abbreviation for, I am a pig!
