When we lived in Las Vegas, the RV shows were generally held at casino convention halls, and may have had 1 to 3 dealers. You'd hit a couple of them to look at everything. We went to all of them and began narrowing down our choices.
In between shows we'd do more research, and keep up to date.
When we moved to Utah, there was a single show with everything, including two we hadn't seen before. Again, we didn't buy, but kept doing our research and keeping up to date. We'd also check in at dealers and find "non-show" pricing on the ones we liked.
By the time of the next big show, we had narrowed it down to two. We went through them with a fine-toothed comb and compared everything. We decided on the Grand Design Momentum 385TH at the show, and got better pricing than we had seen before - show or non-show. It also helped that several execs from the factory were there.
Take the time at the show to talk to reps and execs, not just dealer sales folks. The factory people are the ones that can answer your tech questions far better than the dealer can.
