Going to visit our new rig today.

On 2-16 we bought a new(to us) rig and drove it directly to the storage yard. Because we are remodeling our S&B's kitchen the Adventurer has been relegated to soon status. I promised the DW I would not personalize it until the kitchen was out of the way. Well I still have a couple days work to do, but, the DW needs me to go pick up our DGD and take her to a off site special class after school and the storage yard is close by, so she said to make my plans and enjoy the new toy, but don't be late picking Catt up for her class.

The Adventurer has always been kept under cover and we have had some real back east storm cells pass by and I need to make sure it is water tight. For those of you who have never experienced the fall and rainy season of the East and South, a single storm cell can produce as much rain as we get in a month in L.A.

I need to make some cabinets to fit in the spaces where the old CRT boat anchors were placed so I need measurements. I want to figure out about storage for folding chairs, patio carpet and my new step stool for washing windows will go. I'm going to move the rig to an open area in the storage yard and practice extending and retracting the levelers. I also want to figure out how the electronics work as there have been several modifications to the OEM entertainment system.

It will be so much fun just looking at the rig and sitting in it, I am so tired of remodeling.

On the 28th we're off to take the DGS to see some places he hasn't be to and fill his Easter Break with fun.

As soon as I can I'll post some before and after pictures of the cabinets and the rest of the rig.

Hope you guys have fun today too.

  • Well I didn't get much done two days ago but tomorrow it's back in the thick of making it ours. The TVs and radio work, the screens on the Fantastic Vents have been cleaned and painted black, the new knows for the speed control are on their way from Elkhart and I'll be measuring for new cabinets where the old TVs were and new covers will be installed over the vents. Then it's clean, clean, clean. Wash down everything and scrub the carpets. It's not too dirty, it just isn't my DW's level of clean. And after all she did give me permission to write the check to purchase the rig.

    Pictures on Friday.
  • Have a good time !!!! We're in Gulfport FL 'til the 28th of March, and I look forward to opening up our 5th wheel when we get home. Just opening the slide and daydreaming about the camping season is such a great feeling !!!
