It is not at all unusual for a air compressor to have regulator issues after some period of use. That said, I bought mine from HF and have had it for about 6 years or more of what I would consider normal homeowner type use. The regulator went this year and was easily replaced for a nominal price on amazon. Paid $100.00 for the compressor and would say I got my money's worth out of it already and expect it will probably out last me.
