This company seems to have become a fairly shady marketing firm. I get at least a couple of mailings from them every week for the same products over and over and over again. If I didn't sign up for their insurance after the first 50 mailings, I don't know why they think I will with #51.The last straw for me was today when I got a bill from Good Sam Roadside Assistance stating "Urgent! YOUR MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES THIS MONTH". I called the number on the bill and told the woman I had never signed up for this program. She said "Oh, you were given a free 6-month membership back in January". To me, it is extremely devious to send me renewal bills for memberships I never requested. I told her to never send anything like this to me again and to take me off their mailing list. I'm sure they make money off of this, because someone somewhere will be confused and pay the bill, possibly thinking their spouse signed up for it.

Some would say they are doing you a favor by reminding you of a renew opportunity to the previous free trial. Personally I find it is just over-exposure which has created an insensitivity. We have Good Sam Roadside Assistance, (just because I think I should have at least one brand). We receive almost daily (exaggeration) GS mailing, so they are thrown out without opening along with the rest of the unsolicited advertising we get. Just please remember to recycle.:)

Good Sam is a big ponzi scheme. They are not in the road service business, they use some one else for that.They are a pure and simple marketing company. I had their Emergency service for awhile. They nearly drove me nuts. I can't say that I had any real problem with their road service. However the price kept going up and I found other companies that do the same thing for less money and do not pester me to death. I detest any one that automatically renews my subscription to any thing with out my permission to do so. That will kill a deal right now.

I remember another company that did that stuff years ago. Readers digest. They would send a bill. If you complained they would tell you it was because you had a free trial subscription. Welcome to big business fraud. If we did that stuff we'd be in jail.

My daughter was getting ready to go on a month long trip just the other day and the inside duel was flat. Her husband could not get the rusty tire off and she called good sam roadside and within an hour a guy was there to help. He got the tires off and found that the inflator valve stem was bad and replaced it and aired the tires up and all was good. No extra cost, just the yearly premuim. IF you don't like all the stuff they send, put it in the recycle bin ( You DO recycle don't you?) And get over it. It is not costing you any extra money. Thats what I do and don"t complain. You get the daily paper? Do you look at all the ads/ or every word? I don't. Maybe I should call and coomplain that I don't want all the stuff that I don't have any interest in not delivered to me. Sports section # 1

The junk mail is annoying due to the volume of it, but my major complaint was sending me fake bills for a service I never signed up for.

I just had to use the out of fuel feature of the roadside service. I had planned to refuel and spend the night in Fort Peck, Montana.

I had run my fuel a little to close. The only gas station in Fort Peck did not have a working diesel pump.

I did not have enough fuel to try to get to the next town.

Called Good Sam roadside service. They had 5 gallons of diesel delivered to me in about 45 minutes.

Fort Peck is close to a ghost town.

I have become a real curmudgeon! So I take one company's unsolicited "offering" , place it into another company's prepaid envelope and mail to them. My wife thinks "that's not nice", but it gives the post office more business!

Just last week, I had a voicemail from "the IRS" stating they had filed suit against me and I needed to call 979 something to hear the case file. That sounded bogus, so I googled it and found it was a scam to try and scare people to cough up a payment.

This is on top of the preemptive replacements a couple of my cards (I have 3) did due to the Target and Home Depot data breaches, so I'm on my 3rd number on one card and 2nd number on the other two within the last year.

When I got back from my latest RV trip a few weeks ago, I had tons of mail from companies sticking their nose into my business. Among other things, I had 3 official looking "offers" to extend the warranty on my 8 year old F250, a couple of offers to buy it, an offer to buy my Jetta, and a letter from State Farm about how it is better to insure my RV with them. How they know I have an RV I'm not sure.

So, am I testy about what I saw as another in an endless series of attempts to con me out of money? Yes!

Since we're on the subject of annoying junk mail, how about AARP. NEVER done any business with them but they have been harassing me for nearly 20 years. All I ever did was be born prior to 1960. Guess it's all my parents fault. :(

All those Campingworld and Good Sam mailings are usefull. Some can be shredded and make good fire starting material and some can be rolled to make logs for the campfire. :C

I think I may still have a few of the Readers Digest books I never ordered. The bills for unordered books also made good fire material. :B
