We have Good Sam.Toadtoes said they will send a mechanice first and Sundays could be trouble. That wasn't our experience. We broke down on a Sunday and they did send a tow truck and they towed us to a GMC dealer.
Now that was 10 years ago and maybe that's changed. We were very happy with the service.
My experience was last year. To be clear, I didn't mention it to put down GS - I mentioned it because no service is 100% perfect.
GS will tow you to the nearest shop willing to work on your RV. That works great as long as they can find a shop - until they do, you wait.
AAA will tow you anywhere you want to go. That works great if you have a place in mind within the distance limitations (and they also have a cost limitation, so if the tow truck required to tow your RV costs more per hour, then your distance will be reduced accordingly).
For me, I see the benefits of both. Around home (or areas I'm familiar with), AAA works great because I can get my RV towed where I want rather than another shop I'm not familiar with. In unfamiliar areas, GS works great because they will find a repair shop for me and get my RV there. IMHO, in the scheme of having an RV, an extra $80-$140 for the secondary service is well worth it.
