RV forum nonsense.
It always amazes me that we could run ST trailers for years on a fleet of over a dozen trailers in a business setting, and not have a problem that we could not attribute to road hazard or operator abuse.
Campgrounds are full of trailers with ripped up wheel wells and skirts lol.
Its not just RV forums where we have seen lots of ST tire issues over the years but all types of rv and non rv trailering forums....especially on commercial trailers in road service (80k-90k miles a year).
ST tire issues were so bad over the years some rv rv websites created tire forums to deal with ST tire issues.
Now...Things have changed for rv owners with the new gen 14"/15"/16" ST tires like the Providers which have been around since the '10-'11 era with non of the usual ST maypop problems.
And the 14"/15"/16" Endurance and Carlisle HD both don't have a service record yet to see how they do long term but I would bet they can compete with the Providers when they've been on the road for 6-7 years. Right now the Endurance being made in the USA is popular.
I was around hauling when all ST tires were made in the USA by our bigger domestic tire makers. Yep.... we had the same issues with them even back then.
