Great desert vista....

Spent the last 8 days in a local Az. State park... early wake up to a rare
(for this part of the greater Phoenix basin) view...

Night time temps in the high 20's ...the Artic Fox 4 season reputation
delivered, warm and cozy. Almost too chilly for a campfire...almost.

Great time was had, sorry it had to end. Photo is from my front step
in Lost Dutchman State Park. Perfection !

  • Yep...I'll take mine extra crispy !

This was our first stay in the "new" loop at Dutchman... they
had about 100% occupancy...pack em' in pretty tight, and actual
pad sites won't be the access limiting factor... ingress and egress
will prove problematic for some longer units...(on the back-in sites)
especially if the loop road is occupied by vehicles.

Still.... what a beautiful location. Lucky to live here.

  • Roy...you would have been teleported to your earlier days...right
    down to the coyote chorus.

..as to the coffee... an oversized cuppa of Eight o'clock from the
Keurig just about made it perfection....the thick cut bacon in the fry pan did. :C

Brings back great memories from the 70s when we lived in the area... We used to go in groups with Jeeps pulling util trailers with all our tent camping gear. Woke up a many morning seeing the same view in the mid 20s... Sure makes that first cup of coffee soooo gooood... Hearing the coyotes off in the distance was great as well in the early evenings

Lost Dutchman and the Apache trail was one of our favorite places back then...

    Thanks for the memories

  • Thanks..it is a favorite local stay-cation for us.

Funny thing is , this week predicted 72 -74 degree highs in
the area. It was a treat to see a small amount of the flakes...
    and not have to shovel!
