There's been some talk about us, so thought I'd share.Not to worry - this is just a bit more than what we're used to. We still have power - only went out a couple of times for a couple of minutes. That was a little scary when it's hanging around 10 degrees outside! Our trash pick-up and mail delivery did not come on Tuesday, but everything's pretty much back to normal now.This is looking off our back porch on Tuesday, 12/26. We already did lots of clean up on Monday, but had more snow overnight. Then we did more clean up and had more snow after this. Thank goodness for our snowblower...This is RV related as our trailer and tow vehicle are snug in the barn and our B is safe in the garage.Thankfully the snow didn't extend too far south so our daughter had a good trip back home to Virginia on Wednesday.

Greetings from Mid Western PA(an hr north of Pittsburgh)!Yeah, saw that Erie had something like 64 inches of snow over a couple of days..Nothing more than a dusting here.Glad things are well in Erie.

Making me jealous!It's been so many years since I've seen a lot of snow, and I'm a Northern Michigander that loves snow.Less than a foot total the past few weeks despite several teasing warnings from the feds about large overnight accumulation.

Id be glad to give anyone our snow and 5 degree temps today.LOL.Glad the OP has power.

Yes, these single digit temperatures are really demotivating. I expect this in later January and early February... Not December.

Not December.Boy, no kidding!Been wanting to work on a few antique cars in my garage, not impressed with dealing with chucks of metal when they are 30 degrees F!Do have a furnace in the garage that I can use, but heating a three and half stall garage from 30 degrees to say 50 degrees F really abuses the gas bill..Do have a wood furnace in the basement of the house but right now at 11 degree F temps it takes a lot of wood to keep the house alone snug..

To the OP: stay safe! My brother goes to Behrend...he was happy to be home on break to miss all of that snow!

it’s rained about 73 inches here this week I swear. Mountains should be getting good snow but it’s mashed potatoes not nice like your pic.

You can keep the snow (glad you know how to deal with it). -14f didn't phase me a bit, this morning. It only requires a bit more wood into the shop heater and a dedication to stay indoors.

OP, you guys really got blasted. We only received a few inches from the storms, about 2 inches more overnight. I think our temps. are similar to yours. Good that you have cozy beds for your rigs, I'm looking out the window at ours in the driveway, and I don't like what I see. Oh well, start of snow-bird season for us in January. Hope life gets back to normal for you guys soon. Best wishes from Pittsburgh.

Yesterday was 82 degrees in sunny Palm Springs, CA. :) I'm exhausted shoveling all this sunshine!

Back home, I did not grow up in 'snow country', we usually received a snowfall of just a few inches once or twice a season.

Us 'southern folk' don't know how to handle big snow falls, the city comes to a screeching halt when that happens! LOL! In 1968, we got 14 inches of snow, a kids dream! It was so much fun but not people going to work like my Dad who needed the help of three 'big football' college neighbor guys who helped him push his '65 Valiant to get it going.

sayoung - a whiteout is when it is snowing hard while you're driving and you can't see but 2 feet. Very scary!!!

GordonThree - don't be jealous - this is a bit too much snow and it will be hanging around since there's no warm up in the foreseeable forecast. Any new snow will just add up and we're a little nervous about the barn roof as there is a cracked beam (that's been repaired) where our tow vehicle is stored. Haven't heard of any roofs caving in - but there have been reports of decks collapsing.

1995brave - looks like we just missed you - we moved here 40 years ago from MD. Had no idea what lake effect snow was - never even heard of it. :)

We have a little less than a foot of snow here. We've been getting lake affect snow the last few days, we're over 100 miles from Lake Michigan. 6 below Wednesday, 12 below Thursday then a spring thaw on Friday, 10 above.
