For me the issue isn't so much that it's close to the camper, though that can present smoke issues inside as noted here. I do like the idea of a built in stand/bracket for the grill. However, more important for me is that each campsite is different and there are times there may not be room to cook at a permanent contact point on my rig. Too many factors like wind (ESPECIALLY wind,) picnic table location, Where everyone is congregating, etc., etc. can also determine it's a bad place to grill at that particular spot. I have a folding portable grill stand and much prefer that so I can grill wherever I want to and not be restricted to just the side of my rig. Of course whatever works for the individual is the best way!
