Mr. Ed, I sort of answered your post in the thread I started. I had not read all of yours.
I have had afib for years, maybe 10 or so. For the first few years I did the Bayer Aspirin thing with good results, at least no bad results. I needed a hernia repaired and the anesthesiologist would not knock me out because of my afib. Long, boring story but the docs tried Shock, amioderon (sp) and several other things I can't spell to regulate my heart.
Finally had an ablation and a pacemaker put in. My afib was wildly out of control and now not so bad. I hope to outlive the batteries in the pacemaker
I had the Lead Dr. in the Cardio-version clinic tell me he liked coumadin better because it was more closely monitored. Take Care
