Hail damage

Short story, went to Sturgis and got my toyhauler hailed on. Not bad dings but on side is covered. Have not got on roof, but I can see a dimple or two where roof meets side. Hail was sideway hail due to wind. I thought it was goin to blow over. I have dealt with hail damage prior on my house and cars, but not on a toy hauler. It is less than a year old and has metal siding. It's a Puma XLE. Any suggestions? I am thinking of taking it to a RV repair shop and get a estimate before I see a adjuster. While I can live with the slight demples on the one side it has diminished its value.
  • A friend had hail damage and most of it popped out on it's own when he parked in the desert for a few months. The dimples were hardly noticeable. He did have to replace one sheet of siding that was badly damaged.
  • If you would like to try and do the repairs yourself, use dry ice on each dimple. I have watched this done on car lots to cars and trucks, so know it works. Get an insurance evaluation first though, as there may be enough to total it.
  • It was side ways hail lol. From what I can tell the vents seem ok as does the ac unit. The front seems ok as well, but we will see. I can live with the dimples I am concerned about taking off the siding and replacing it and the loss of use.

Yeah, we had hail damage but it was on 2 sides...enough to total it out. Not to noticeable to people that don't know. We bought it back for 2,000 and still use it. It was 2 years old when it happened. We used the rest of the insurance money to buy a second destination trailer for our property. Worked out well for us.

Be sure to roll your awning out and see if you have any light coming through where the hail would have hit the fabric. Also our vent covers were damaged. Since our hail way in a windy storm the roof didn't get damaged because, I guess the angle of the hail
  • what is the roof made of? if rubber/tpo over plywood there could be unseen defects , dimples in the wood, that you can't see at a glance.
