Handling home office equipment - hanging files

We are spending several months at a time in our RV. I have tried numerous ways of keeping personal files. My hanging files jump off the rails while traveling and fall down into any file drawer, file box or file container I have tried. Anyone have a hack for keeping the files ON THE RAILS? I have seen hacks with clips to keep them from sliding, but I want them to STAY ON THE RAILS. Any ideas???

In all seriousness, go paperless. No need for any papers to reference. I have papers that I file away for records (mostly just taxes, but even most of that is digital), but I don't have any papers that I need to reference, it's all digital.
  • I was never a fan of the hanging files. We were landlords the 17 years we fulltimed and I needed file space. We had opposing couches in our Phaeton, so we had one removed and put in two recliners, then had a custom file box built by an Amishman in Nappannee to place between them. It had full extension drawers. Plenty of room for all the files I needed and nothing ever moved that was inside. We had it made with two tops using a piano hinge. So when I needed a desk, the recliner was pulled out and I turned my kitchen chair around, flopped open the top and had a desk where I could work and not take up table space. Great setup.
