I knew this day would come, I just didn't think it would be this soon. I was diagnosed with ALS in February 2016, and the average life span of a person with Lou Gehrig's disease is 2 to 5 years but I don't think that I will even make it to two years. Being a quadraplegic has certainly taught me humility. But this old disabled veteran can't afford those fancy class A motorhomes with the built in lift system. My wife won't drive one of those anyway.The VA has provided us with all kinds of medical equipment, including this eyegaze computer I am using for this post. So however spotty VA medical care is they really come through with equipment and funds.All this to say farewell. I will miss hanging out on rv.net talking about my favorite hobby.

Thanks for your service major. My dad passed away from lou gehrigs disease in 2000. He was diagnosed in 1993, by 1995, he was completely paralyzed in a nursing home on a ventilator with a feeding tube in his stomach.

I certinly know what you are going through and have gone through. I wish you the best sir. Fight it to the end! That's what my dad did. He was an army Sgt.
