My truck ( and most others ) has a DIC that gives all needed info and alarms for anything of importance.

My 2000 truck does not have a transmission temp gauge and I did not want to tap into the cooler line. Plus last year my coolant temp sensor for the coolant temp gauge went out on a trip so it's nice to have a back up. plus if a code should set it gives you various live data to help find the problem.

Maybe time for a new truck! I almost got the itch after reading in the latest Trailer Life about the newest stuff on the GMCs and Duramax trucks. It was all good and now I will wait till the styling change and most likely beg the DW and get one LOL.
