We use two cement filled coffee cans & bungees to keep our awning extension from flapping in the breeze. 5" long 3/8" eye bolt with nut set in wet cement in 3# coffee can, when dry gives you a pretty hefty weight. The plastic helps protect both the cement from chipping and from scratching whatever you put it on when traveling.
