I got this idea from
and
I wanted to KNOW when my toad brakes were on when using my Ready Brake. This will work with Brake Buddy, or any other braking system that works by activating the toad's braking system.
I already had a set of Harbor Freight Magnetic Lights. I just placed the magnetic lights at the front of the toad's roof and ran the 4 pin cable to the back of the toad where it was already wired for lights to tow a trailer. Now, whenever the toad's brake lights are on, I can see them in the rear view camera.
I put the lights at the front, in front of the luggage rack, because DW was afraid that if they were at the rear, another driver would be watching those lights and not notice I was stopping if I didn't stop hard enough to activate the car's brakes. These lights don't activate with the MH's brake lights, just the toad's native lights.

I DO recommend the LED kit which gives you a visual indication of when the toad brakes are on. I wired mine to the toads trailer flat four wire plug.

regarding the LED light, I hooked mine to the brake light wire on my toad. This way, the LED comes on when the toad brake is depressed rather than being dependent on the tow bar surge mechanism alone. By the way, I haven't yet gone to the trouble of routing my LED signal light into the coach cockpit. Instead, I wired up a bright LED light and place it in the Toad passenger seat when I'm towing.
