Cant seem to find a pic of the exact one I have online, but you can get them most any hardware store these days.
Not sure what you mean about the backflow preventer, it has two on/off valves, not sure what else you mean? I typically have the green hose hooked to the open side, so even if something gets in, it is just a regular water hose as well.
He is talking about a spring type check valve. It does not have an on/off lever. It's purpose is to prevent the chance that water or anything else would back flow into the water supply. Some may say you should have a dual check. Ask at a plumbing supply house, they will have what you need.
