For laundry I like to use the Purex 3 in 1 Sheets. Twenty two sheets in a 8x8x2 inch box and it takes the place of detergent, fabric softner and dryer sheets. Does a good job too. In fact that is what I used on my last two Iraq deployments and it got my uniforms and pt gear clean everytime.
