I can't remember if I ever posted this little hint and I tried to search for it but could not find any of my posts in this thread (have sent PM to the moderator for help).
Anyway...I took a large Tide (rinsed very well) detergent bottle (stronger plastic than a milk jug so will last longer) and poked a hole about 2 inches from the bottom. Then I stuck a golf tee into the hole (I also tied a string around the tee and fastened it to the handle of the jug because we often misplaced the tee).
When dry camping we fill it with water and set it on the edge of the picnic table and we use it to wash our hands and to rinse things out. We just loosen the top, remove the tee and the water streams out in a very narrow stream. Then we just put the tee back in and tighten the top. We put a dish pan or bucket underneath it to catch the water. This saves on water use inside the van and is very handy right there at the table.
This is an old Girl Scout tip that I read about years ago. When we tent camped this was our main water source. I have used milk jugs but they collapse very easily...they would be good for one trip, I guess.
