Having spent more than a few hours reading all of the posts on this subject, here are some of my suggestions and/or ideas.
1.I highly recommend the "Extend-a-Shower" expanding shower rod. I bought one from CW and love it. Gives you more room and eliminates the shower curtain sticking to your wet skin when trying to shower in the RV's smaller tub/shower area. Very sturdy, easy to install, provides rod for hanging towels, etc.
2. I have sleep apnea and use a c-pap device when sleeping. Unfortunately, the device is powered by 110V AC which is not available when boondocking. I installed a 12V outlet close to the bed and ran wires to the battery. Bought a small, plug-in, inverter to power the c-pap machine. I don't have to run the generator all night, but must recharge battery the next day.
3. DW and I sometimes visit flea markets and sometimes find useful, cheap items. I found a handy little scrubber pad that has a sponge on one side and something like scotchbright on the other. The scotch-bright side doesn't last very long, but is handy for doing dishes and removing the "burned-on" food from skillets, etc. They come in packs of 10 or so for around a dollar, maybe less. The sponge side is yellow and the scrubber side is green if you are looking for them.
4. Also at a flea market, we found a cheap set of thin, plastic "cutting pads" for slicing veggies, meat, etc. They are thin enough to roll up and clean easily. We even brought one into the "stationary" home to use.
5. On a less-positive, but well-meaning note, I would caution everyone about adding too much extra storage to your rig. Over-loading is a major cause of tire failure and accidents. Just sayin'.
Love this thread. Became addicted and neglected other duties. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to placate irate wife?
