I probably missed this but here are a couple tips. Use your phone to take pictures of your VIN, your license plate, your driver's license and any medications you have. Really the list is endless.

Good points; I've used mine for recording a fender bender-pictures remove all dough
I used my phone immediately after a fender bender occurred and before the cars were moved to the side of the road. The position of the cars showed that the other car was in the wrong lane. Without that picture, the insurance said they would have thought it was my fault.
Saved my bacon.
