Harvest Hosts

Has anyone stayed overnight at a Harvest Host location and if so what was your experience? Thinking of joining the group in order to journey south through Washington, Oregon and California this fall.

    Glass? Try bottles! :)
  • If you are looking for inexpensive stays, check boondockerswelcome.com
We have stayed with some very nice people who are very helpful with local information and enjoy talking "rving". The membership is very reasonable and there is no obligation to buy anything. Often water, electric, and WIFI are available.

After checking Harvest Hosts, we decided it was not for us and we do enjoy wine!

  • The founders of Harvest Hosts are long time overlanders. We have had only great stays. (Of course, the wines we bought probably cost more than a commercial campsite!)
  • We joined this summer because we were traveling through Vermont and Maine where campgrounds can be very expensive or require too much driving to get to them. We really enjoyed our experiences. We're planning on using them as much as possible, I think it'll be especially good in California because there are so many wineries. Now we just have to develop a taste for wine - :-D!
