Well ... "wild" is a matter of opinion I guess, but here goes.
Potato Creek State Park (Indiana), about 5 years ago. My wife had her back to the tree line. I was facing the tree line. Fire pit was between us.
I looked up and a deer was standing about a foot behind my wife. Any closer and it's nose would have been in her hair. Deer appear to be gentle creatures, but they are wild animals and can be very dangerous. I said, "Hey sweety .... very slowly turn your head around and see what's standing behind you. .... very slow". She did ... and froze solid!
After a moment, the deer walked back into the tree line. I thought she was going to faint! (not the deer, my wife!)
