Has anyone had a run in with any WILD animals?

In the late 90's,we stayed at a West Virgina State Park that had a lot of deer.I was sitting at the picnic table and our border collie was laying underneath.A doe came to about 10 ft from us and started grazing.She suddenly stopped and started sniffing the air. She must have picked up the smell of the dog.While looking directly at us,she started to paw the ground.At that,our dog gave out a loud bark and the deer took off.
