A better way?
Well, yes; get a vehicle that can be towed four down.
To find out if a vehicle can be towed four down, look in the Owners Manual for a section called something like "Recreational Towing". If it says you must use a dolly or a trailer, find a different vehicle.
However, it should be noted that SOME vehicles can be modified by installing a lube pump or a drive shaft disconnect, then towed four down. It should also be noted that failures of these systems have been reported, resulting in expensive repairs.
IMO, it is best to find a vehicle that can be towed four down WITHOUT any modification.
