Regarding the above post by willald:
Won't some of the weight of the minivan being towed on a dolly be on the road, probably the rear wheels if towing a front drive. Therefore it would seem that one could subtract some of the gross minivan weight since the dolly doesn't carry the full load, maybe only 2/3. But for braking purposes, the full weight of the dolly and the minivan must be added together.
