The OP is correct in wanting to keep his WDH correctly adjusted. Using the WDH to aim headlights is not the correct way to compensate for rear springs that sag easily. My F250 changed the front about 1/4" with a 860 lb. tongue weight trailer, and the rear maybe 2". The rear springs are the problem, so you either add additional support or you don't.
Crawling under to engage and disengage Stableloads is not something that I wanted to do, therefore I used air bags. One could install rear springs like those in a F350, but then the ride will be harsher.
