I agree. I got my first motorcycle ride from a Hell's Angel when I was 14. I haven't had many dealing with the biker gangs, but when I have I treat them the same as I would anyone else. And I've never had a problem with them.

This weekend (Labor day) they are in St George for a get together. There should not be any problem, unless a rival gang decides to go there and cause problems. The officials have brought in officers from other locals to keep peace. Duck creek is where they are staying.

Hi, The above is mostly true. Some friends and I were camped in the overflow in Kennedy Meadows camped right next to the Mongels (sp?) and they were not only quiet (well except for the Harleys :) ) but also very respectful. We were concerned at first but when the ranger came through he told us that they do not bother anybody and once they leave it is one of the cleanest camps around.

ROTFLMAO......Just spent several weeks among these "lowlife" and I am still walking and talking. The biker gangs of old are basically no more. Sure there are some lower life among them, but they are held in check by the doctors, attorneys and other very visible professionals that are the majority members of the clubs. Would I fear them, no, unless I meddled in their business. Will I respect them, yes, as the new 1% have given me no reason not to. The majority got out of the shady businesses years ago and are into legitimate businesses today. Their past reputation is fostered by threads like this and folks that want to make them into a legend.

Years ago, I was riding my bike up Hwy 41 going to Yosemite. There was a brush fire crossing the highway and a group of 40 to 50 Hells Angels stopped, got off and started fighting the fire. As others have said, the motorcycle gangs leave regular folks alone unless provoked.

The problem is that most of these bikers are not "very nice people". They usually belong to a club like this because they want to be thought of as "bad", and they may go out of their way to demonstrate this. Just pretty much lowlife.

Go out of your way to meet them. You will find most MC riders very nice people. Milwaukee has Harley Davidson anniversity right now. No troubles. Some dressed very weird, but seem very well behaved.

My son belongs to a motorcycle "gang." He wears that rough leather jacket with patches, wears a colored bandanna, and has a goatee. He looks scary. His "gang" escorts funerals for veterans and blocked that wacko church group from disrupting a veteran's funeral. His "gang" holds fund raisers for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. His "gang" buys Christmas presents for kids who other wise would have none. His "gang" visits kids in hospitals with stuffed animals.

Sometimes things are not how they appear.

Is Good Sam Club a "gang"?

Having had only one run-in with these "people" in my career I can honestly advise if you go your way, they'll go theirs.
