- RedRollingRoadbExplorerThe safe route would be to go west on 12 to 89 and take I-70 then 191.
But if you want scenic take 12 east to Torry then 24 to I-70 and 191 to Moab. IMO 12 scares more people but it is a decent road, you just need to drive it. Couple of hard short climbs. Lots of RV's of every size on it. You won't sent any speed records om it. From Torry on it is just another road.
We broke the trip up and over-nighted in Torry at the Rim Rock RV Park. Nothing fancy had a full serve restaurant and a decent burger and shake joint down by the RV park. Early November and had the place to ourselves.
Good gas stop at the Sinclair station just to the east of Escalante. - jamesuExplorer

What he said in paragraph #2: we took that route from Zion & Bryce Canyon to Moab in 2011 as part of our clockwise “Grand Tour” route of the 5 NP’s in S. Utah. East of Torrey you pass through Capitol Reef NP. Stunning scenery on this route pretty much to whole way. Would love to do it again. - padredwNomad

Agree with both previous posters. Utah 12 from Bryce to Torry remains one of our favorite routes. - rexlionExplorerHwy 12 by Boulder Mtn is curvy and scenic (views from high up, looking east they say you can see for up to 50 miles). But it is safe if you just take it slowly.
Consider visiting Goblin Valley SP along the way. - IvylogExplorer IIIAssuming you’re from Mississippi you may find 12 interesting but doable...did it in our 45’ DP. Lots of short 10% climbs and one 12% up onto the spine of a ridge (narrow) and steep drop offs on both sides for 2 miles... spectacular but as the driver you don’t see as much.
At the entrance to Bryce, UT 22 goes north (good road) and a better option than going west to 89. - BarabooBobExplorer IIIMy choice would be leave Bryce going east on 12 to highway 24. I would go east on 24 and get on I70 (east) just west of Green River. Take I70 east to 191 south to Moab. If you are heading east after Moab, take 128 to get back to I70. 128 travels along the Colorado River and is very scenic.
- trailertravelerExplorerIf you do not want to take the UT-12 scenic byway, which has a lot see and is worth exploring without the RV, take US-89 North to Kingston. Take UT-62 to Koosharem and turn right on Browns Lane to UT-24 East. UT-24 will take you to I-70 just North of Moab. This will take you past/through Capitol Reef National Park and past Goblin Valley State Park; both of which are worth seeing.
