That is after subsidies. Premium is actually a little over $700.
Silver plan under BCBS of NC.
And yes that is $700 MAX OUT OF POCKET including prescriptions.
Sounds like westernrvparkowner has done as much research as I have.
Income levels determine subsidies and one should understand what "income" is for getting ACA subsidies.
As for financing ACA, do a search.

I don't make the rules but like anything else, understanding them can sometimes help.

Last year there was actually a $O premium, $O deductible silver plan at the lowest eligible income level. Wasn't there this year and possibly since states setup their own exchanges, it may have bee and NC only thing.

Unfortunately, come December, I have to get this thing called Medicare.

Soooooo glad those who do not contribute to society get free, or almost free, health care! We are just above the freebie line.

Our premiums almost doubled, our deductible went up a LOT.
For the same plan, except now, thank God, as a 60 year old man, I have maternity care covered! our premiums went from $550 each to $900 each a month. Our deductible went from $2000 a year each, to $5000 a year each!

So, we went to $31,600 out of pocket before insurance kicks in, from $17,200!

But, I am soooooo glad that I now have Maternity Care! When this 60 year old man gets pregnant, it is so stress releaving to know my costs are covered!

The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment............:S

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare.....Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty.......Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt..........Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control...Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare.......Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6) Education.....Take control of what people read and listen to take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion......Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools

8) Class Warfare.Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor

I don't have or own a "large accounting firm," but I can tell you to the penny everything about my .gov ACA healthcare plan.

She said that is the average however Medicaid patients have to pay nothing nor do several other types of patients who I can not identify as it would be deleted anyway.

Therefore, the insured people and others pay not only for their insurance and co-pays but also for many others today so just suck it up and shuck out! Something's very wrong to put it mildly!

I/We don't have a personal axe to grind in this healthcare area as we are in great financial shape but most people/retirees aren't! What about them?

I wish I could get in the ACA.
The way congress passed it, since my wife has insurance available through here employer we have no choice but to take it.

Under the ACA a comparable policy would be save us about $300 a month in premiums and have a lower deductible.

The really sad thing is there isn't any place you can actually research the ACA. Even my accounting firm, (a large one at that), still is saying they haven't got a handle on all the rules, requirements and operating parameters. Two plus tax years in and we are still operating on a "we think that is OK, but we have no way to be sure."

Someone earlier pointed out the greed issue. It exists in congress in spades! They are bought and sold by the multi-nationals. Every great society has had it's fall and we are in full speed ahead on ours. This fall may make the great depression look like a cake walk! Problem is Quartszite is not going to hold all of us!

The actual # who could be considered dependent, that is they draw more than they pay, is 35.1% but it includes a disproportionate # of children.
