This discussion thread reminds me of something: I keep getting brochures in the mail from the AirMedCare Network for CALSTAR emergency medical air transportation.
Their coverage is for only 38 states, but they cover all the ones we're interested in EXCEPT for Washington and Idaho - which may be gotchas for us because we're mostly Western U.S. travelers.
What do you folks think of signing up for this? It at first glance seems reasonably priced at only around $85 per year ... but real expensive if there are a lot of exclusions or ways for them to get around having to pay for expensive air evacuations.
For those of you on Medicare with supplement plans ... what does Medicare and/or the various Medicare Supplement Plans cover regarding the charges for emergency medical air transportation?
