It's common practice when testing air conditioning to monitor the air temp at the vent to get an idea of performance. I imagine it would be the same with heating, vent temp should be XX* which would have almost nothing to do with how cold the camper is (once the ducting heats up). 5 hours just doesn't sound reasonable.
