We had 4 fivers. Our last towed with a Dodge dually. In hindsight I wish I had the dually for all of them. Much more comfortable towing platform and room to grow. There's the height above the bed rails to the bottom of the fiver over the truck bed. On one fiver I though we could get by. At a campground in a tight turn and slight incline on one side of the road caused the two to come together, but I watch it happening and stopped. Backed up at went another route. Also if not high enough watch the swing on your pin Box on the fiver, it's possible it could also tear your bed while in a tight turn if not high enough to clear the bed rails.
If you have 7" - 8" clearance you'll probably be fine. It might mean raising the fiver over the axles ( we did on one). Inclines going up and down can pose issues too, taking them on a angle helps instead of straight on.
I learned to install the Morhyde pin box to all my new units. Night and day difference driving ( no chucking) and a good fiver hitch. The longer bed is more stable and no worries hitting the cab.
We now own a MH and wish we did it much earlier. Not sure what your looking at but for a top of the line fiver and a nice loaded dually will get you close to a diesel pusher. Just food for thought. Then you can quit worrying. We did. :)
